Sustainability - Landscaping for a Clean, Healthy World
Green Life Studios believes we must be proactive to bring out a clean, healthy world for all generations of Californians to live, work and play in. How we manage resources in our landscape has a lot to do with that. Toxin-free gardens are our goal, and educating others is paramount.
For decades, people, like us, who were born and raised in California, felt their world was clean and healthy. Clean water, clean streets, and houses away from mosquitos. slaughterhouses, smokestacks, garbage and sewer activities -- gave us that impression. Stormdrains, rivers and waterways became dumping grounds for everything we didn't want to smell or see. Millions of acre-feet of rainwater were forced off our roofs and streets into underground pipes, scarcely seeing daylight until it reached a bay, lake or the sea. With ever-increasing competition for their water supplies, Californians now are regretting that lost water, and the contaminants that ride along with it. And many Californians are being forced to pay more for treated water than they'd ever expected.
While the chemicals in water used in landscape have consequences that go unseen, they are now receiving more attention in education and media. Californians have noticed the connection between chemicals and plastic use and the negative effects they have on our bodies, our fish supplies, the quality of water we drink, swim or surf in. People want to know about that connection, and what they can do about it, without sacrificing beauty and asset protection.
Therefore, Green Life Studios chose as a landscape company to dedicate itself to helping Californians improve not only the beauty in their landscape but their health -- providing landscapes that reduce the use of chemicals and water, both for the built environment we live in, and the natural one we are still connected to. In California, this dedication is coming to be known by various names: California Friendy, Ocean Friendly, River Friendly, Bay Friendly, eco-friendly, and environmentally friendly. Viva the trend, because any kind of friendly is people friendly.
